Meet Jeffery Roberts, the Builder/Artist/Designer behind the Wilcox Gardens 2011 Design Showcase Home

Combining his passion for art, building and design, Jeffery Roberts delivers expertise and excellence in all three areas while focusing on one goal: Exceeding his client’s expectations.

Background

Classical training in the fine arts to enhance degrees in architecture, fashion and interior design led him to a venture in a collaborative, Chicago-based fashion design company and a lifestyle fashion & furnishings gallery. But while Jeffery’s own clothing label sold through select boutique retailers worldwide for over 10 years, his love for creating sense of place soon became his career focus. In 1984, after serving as lead designer for Interiors by Town & Country in Allendale, Michigan, Jeffery Roberts started his own full-service design firm that has grown to encompass JEFFERY ROBERTS DESIGNS and JEFFERY ROBERTS HOMES inc. Working from Studios in Chicago, Illinois and East Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jeffery has built a loyal national and international clientele.

Inspiration

From his studio in downtown Chicago, Jeffery is energized by dynamic architecture, the arts and the all-natural power of Lake Michigan. Residing and working in historic East Grand Rapids, he draws from an active, family-oriented community that merges global awareness with small-town values.

Philosophy

Good for the environment and even better for budgets, Jeffery is dedicated to reinventing products and materials from the past into artful, functional features for today’s home whenever possible.
