About Me
After more than twenty years in the corporate world, Barb was ready for a new challenge. She decided to shift gears and joined the Katie K team. Every day since, both clients and the entire Katie K team have benefitted from her commitment to excellence and superb attention to detail.
While Barb is incredibly efficient, she’s also compassionate and loves getting to know each client’s specific situation. Her goal is to help them have a positive experience as the Katie K team works with them to find the house that best fits the way they live. A lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, Barb graduated from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) with a bachelor’s degree in social work. After graduation, she worked in the adoption and mental health field for many years before beginning her corporate career. She developed and honed her management and people skills in those roles and is thrilled
to be using them as part of the Katie K team. She loves the intricacies of the business, the beautiful and varied architecture of West Michigan, helping new clients, and being part of such a hard-working, good-natured team.
When she’s not working, Barb enjoys spending time with her nearly-grown daughter and her husband, whom she met when he was an exchange student from Bosnia at GVSU. As a family, they spent many years watching their daughter compete on the Michigan Quarter Horse show circuit. Barb also enjoys reading, boating, going to the beach, and spending time with good friends.
